Ed Sheeran has sat down with George Lowden of Lowden Guitars to discuss upgrades to the Sheeran By Lowden range, as well as announce a giveaway of two signed guitars.

The upgrades to the range, for 2021, include a new offering of Indian rosewood. The small-bodied S02, S03, W02 and W03 all now sport Indian rosewood back and sides, paired with a Sitka spruce top for the S02 and W02, and a cedar top for the S03 and W03.

The W02 and W03 are both based on the Wee Lowden, designed specifically for Ed Sheeran by George Lowden. Sheeran and Lowden’s collaboration began two years ago, and they launched the brand at a surprise event in Los Angeles.

The Sheeran By Lowden guitars sit in a sub-£1,000 price bracket, which as George Lowden notes isn’t too common for guitars made in Northern Ireland: “For me to try to set up a new workshop to make the guitars here was a big challenge. But we’re two years down the line now and everything is going very well.”

Ed Sheeran said of the range’s price: “It was important for the 13-year-old in me being able
to get the quality of a Lowden guitar but also it not be an unachievable feat. I personally think it’s better than anything else in its price bracket.”

You can see Ed discuss the changes with George in the video below. If you want to win one of the two guitars, both of which have been signed by Sheeran and were played on his new album, all you have to do is like the below video on YouTube and leave a comment saying which song you would play on the guitar if you won.
