Heritage Custom Shop has officially launched the Core Collection H-150 Artisan Aged. The guitar is a tricked-out variant of the H-150 standard model with artificial aging.
Handcrafted in Heritage’s historic operations at 225 Parsons Street, Kalamazoo, the Core Collection H-150 has undergone a proprietary aging method to make it look and play like “a well-loved vintage guitar”.
The guitar’s body combines a curly maple top with an ultra-light mahogany back. That gets finished in nitrocellulose, and there are three colour options to choose from: Dark Cherry Sunburst, Tobacco Sunburst and Dirty Lemon Burst.
Meanwhile, the 50s C-style mahogany neck is paired with a 12-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard, with 22 Medium/Jumbo frets from Jescar and a bone nut.
Electronics consist of two Heritage Custom Shop 225 Classic Humbuckers, routed to two sets of volume and tone knobs and a three-way pickup selector. Internally, there are CTS pots and Orange Drop capacitors for period accuracy. Hardware includes a locking Tune-O-Matic bridge and in-house tuning machines.
Edwin Wilson, Head Of R&D at Heritage, said the meticulous aging process is “unique to every single guitar.”
“Everything is done by hand. We ensure every checking detail or wear mark appears as accurate as possible, not at random. It is an art,” he said in a statement.

The Heritage Custom Core Collection H-150 Artisan Aged ships in its own hardshell case, and is available worldwide now at $4,299.
The Heritage Core Collection H-150 was unveiled back in October 2020 and is touted to represent “the pinnacle of American guitar building”. The Artisan Aged finish, on the other hand, made its debut at Summer NAMM 2019 on Heritage’s Standard Collection guitars.
