First look: Gibson’s massive store, Gibson Garage, in downtown Nashville

The store will launch with a star-studded virtual concert featuring Joe Bonamassa, Warren Haynes and more.

The Gibson Garage, a massive music store in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, is set to open its doors on 9 June.

The 8,000-square-foot store will host a “state-of-the-art stage” for both in-person and virtual events, a custom shop for building your own guitar, repair and restoration center and much more.

It will also serve as a product hub for Gibson and all its brands. That includes Epiphone and KramerMesa Boogie and KRK. Gibson also promises limited-edition instruments, gear and apparel to be available in-store.

“The Gibson Garage is the ultimate guitar experience where our past, present and future comes to life for fans and artists right here in Music City,” James “JC” Curleigh, CEO of Gibson Brands, said in a statement. “This is also our opportunity to contribute to the amazing music and guitar culture that we’ve been a part of for over a century.”

A star-studded virtual concert on 9 June (6:30pm CT) will kick off the launch of the Gibson Garage. Gibson Live: A Celebration of Artists To Benefit Gibson Gives will feature performers the likes of Warren Haynes, Joe Bonamassa, Marcus King, Orianthi, Emily Wolf, Jared James Nichols and more. The concert will benefit the charitable arm of Gibson by donating 100 per cent of its proceeds to MusiCares and Save The Music.

Joe Bonamassa said: “The Gibson Garage is the epitome of when the legendary creativity of the original brand perfectly coincides with the vision of the future of the modern electric and acoustic guitar”.

To mark the store opening, Gibson is also giving away an ES-335 ’60s Cherry – enter the giveaway here by 30 May 2021.

The Gibson Garage will be located at Cummins Station on 209 10th Avenue South. Gibson’s history with the Tennessean city dates back to the 70s, when it relocated its operations – from 225 Parsons in Kalamazoo, Michigan – to Nashville.
